What makes a happy team? Data from 5 years’ entrepreneurship teaching suggests that working style is a major determinant of team contentment.
This page provides the raw data for my study on what makes a happy biotech company founding team (the "Founding Partnership"). This study has been submitted for peer-review publication. The ZIP files contains the following: IPIP_scores.xlsx . The Personality profile scores from this study. Note that the order of the participants has been randomized, and each participant given a code of the form Lnnnn, where L is a letter and nnnn is a four digit number. Of L= X, then this is a non-student participant. If L=A thru W, this is a student participant. Students from the same year (2008 thru 2013) have the same letter L, but letters are not assigned sequentially to years (so year A does not necessarily come before Year B). This spreadsheet also contains the raw data on Deadline Brinkmanship summarised in Figure 6. IPIP_blank_scorecard.xls. This is the chart used to score IPIP answers. Please feel free to score yourself! If you are happy for your data to be used in future studies, please send me the sheet or the final scores together with your age and a brief CV outlining entrepreneurial activity - note that I define 'entrepreneurship' very narrowly for this study (see here for more). If you want to fill this in, I strongly suggest that you completely fill in the 'Data' sheet before you look at the results. IPIP_blank_scorecard.pdf. This is a printable PDF version of the questionnaire. I gave this to the students as a printout and then coded their answers into the spreadsheet myself to avoid them looking ahead ot the scores and thereby biassing the results.
