Rufus Scientific Ltd.

Rufus was founded in 2002 by William Bains. William is an internationally recognised innovator in the life sciences, with a track record of successfully predicting where new science and technology will lead, and building companies around that understanding that apply new science and make money for investors and entrepreneurs.

After a research career in academia, William has worked in technological consulting, venture capital and with start-up biotech companies. In 2000 he founded Amedis Pharmaceuticals, and lead the company through its seed and first round funding, recruitment of a management team, filing its first patents and closing its first pharmaceutical company collaboration. In 2002 he founded Delta G Ltd., a company exploiting the growing field of biogerontology. William has also founded two scientific journals, and been a member of the founding team of another five biotech companies and a UK charity. A short CV can be downloaded here.
